The Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, has announced that international students holding a valid student visa will be eligible to travel to Australia from 1st December 2021 and will not require a travel exemption.
This has been made possible because Australia has now reached a new vaccination milestone – 85% of the adult population is now fully vaccinated against COVID19. This is an extremely high rate against global benchmarks and makes Australia one of the safest places in the world to live and study.
Under the arrangements, travellers must:
- be fully vaccinated with an approved vaccine;
- hold a valid visa for one of the eligible subclasses; provide proof of their vaccination status and
- present a negative Covid-19 PCR test taken within three days of departure.
