If your school leaving certificate or English is not yet enough, a foundation year, International Year One or pre-master’s at a university pathway college leads into the degree.

  • Teaching that is checked

Universities are reviewed through the Teaching Excellence Framework and the Office for Students; degrees follow national qualification frameworks.

  • Work while you study

Degree-level students can usually work up to 20 hours a week in term time and full time in vacations. Check your visa conditions.

  • Stay after you graduate

The Graduate visa lets you look for work or take any job after your degree: 18 months for applications made from 1 January 2027, 3 years after a PhD. No sponsor needed.

  • Three nations, many cities

Study in London, or in cities such as Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff and Belfast where living costs are lower and campuses are close to the city centre.

  • Support from day one

Pathway colleges and universities run airport pick-ups, orientation weeks, academic skills classes and careers services for international students.
